Why do banks ask mothers maiden name on a mortgage application?

just curious, they check out? as my mothers maiden name was Smith! Is it relevant to the application? they already have a credit check performed, it will another? and say why not, as the birth date of the members? What my children have to do with applying for a mortgage? they need to see their birth certificates? I was not asked to produce them, and yet
She seems to have my electricity bill and pass me ridiculous

Posing for the birth mothers name is not on a mortgage application standard. At least not in the United States. You do not know where you are.

This is generally considered a security issue are used, they keep on file for you when you call to identify
