22 Mar 2010This is the first time I’ve had to do this so I really don’t know what happens. Mortgage is due the 16th, payment is $1656 month.. I can only pay $1,000 by the 16th and can pay the rest on the 22nd (the friday after the due date) I know I have to call my lender, is this something they will accept and will this go against my credit?

The FIRST thing that you need to do is call your bank and explain the situation.
This is very common right now and banks aren’t the jerks that they used to be.
Yes, it is something they will accept…it will not hit your credit report because it’s not 30-days PAST due..but they will hit you with the late fee, which in your case should be about $60 or so…it’s on your statement.

when you call them the first question out of their mouths will be is this a one time occurrence so be prepared to answer that as well
