What do you know about mortgage banks in America?

My husband and I are a young couple looking to buy our first home to the military. We can not be approved for a mortgage loan through our bank, because my husband was in the Navy for one year (they need two years in the same domain). We applied LendingTree and offered a very good mortgage banks in America. Has anyone worked with them?
