Refinancing Home Mortgage
In: Mortgage Payment
17 Mar 2010Well lets see… I cannot afford a mortgage payment right now but I have unwillingly signed up to bail out the loans of thousands of others? Is this where my tax moneys now going?
Also, this new bailout was instituted by Bush a republican. I thought they were against robbing the ritch and giving to the poor.
This is about mortgage information questions.

It’s the other way around. They’re robbing the poor and giving to the rich.
That’s the Republican way.

The Federal Reserve executed the purchase of AIG, not George Bush. Despite common belief among many liberals, George Bush also does not sneak into your house at night, eat your food, take money out of your wallet, and hide your car keys. I’m not saying he’s blameless by any means, but get your facts straight before you start on your rants.

No, hon, that’s thanks to Obama’s new mentor, Carter, and Clinton. They believed that everybody is entitled to a house, even if they couldn’t pay for it. This is the result.

Think about all the other things your tax dollars are used for. Not only are you paying for someone house, you could also be paying for their kids

Why do you have a mortgage now? Move out of mommas house? Get real, if you’re an adult and responsible, you’re going to have some type of rent or house payment. Don’t blame the gov’t for that! Get a grip.
If you think it’s bad now, you’d better hope the Democrats don’t get in office!!!

The success of our financial institutions is critical to the success of our country. Remember these companies provide financial security for millions of Americans from all classes of society. Poor, Middle class and rich. Poor people could never, never afford a mortgage at high rates that would be if we didn’t have these giants.
People on the individual level should fend for themselves. Welfare motivates people to not be productive in Society.
However, these institutions, who employ 10’s of thousands of people, have paid 100’s of billions in taxes to the government over the years, are interwoven into every aspect of our financial lives.
Governments role is first and foremost to protect the security of its people. Without security, a country will not survive as it is a basic need of all people. Financial security, which is a luxury Americans enjoy is one reason why we are such a great nation. We can borrow money here, and we can save our money, and we feel secure doing these things.
You and many people on this post are government bashers. If the government did not bail these companies out, you would bash the government. They did bail them out thank God, and you are going to bash them. So there is nothing anyone can say or do, you are going to hate the country protecting you in so many ways.
I bet you believe terrorists are not a threat either. In case you didn’t realize it, terrorists are a threat. Pray for American lives this week in the Yemen attack on sovereign US soil.

This bail out was not done by Bush alone. Check your facts. It is truly a bipartisan doings. But, I certainly agree with you that not everyone should be able to buy a home. That is how the economy got in trouble in the first place. Never, ever should someone be able to buy a home without a hefty down payment. I know someone that did this and she is one step away from loosing her home and it is all her fault, plus the greedy lender that gave her the loan in the first place.

No you do not. Fanny and Freddie Mac both still hold mortgages they just now also owe the Federal government the money that the Feds LOANED them. If they fail to pay then the Feds can take their assets. As for AIG, the Feds did to them that Nixon did to Chrysler in 1979.
This is brokered by Bush because of what the incumbents in Congress has done over the last thirty years repealing all of the safeties that were put in place after the Great Depression.

None of this is going to happen without the majority Democrat Congress authorizing it.
As Harry Reid said the other day, “No one knows what to do.” And they were going to leave town without any action.
At least Bush, Paulson and Bernanke have come up with a plan of action.
