The lender receives repayment of principal and interest on commercial real estate loan period. If you default on the loan and then go into default the lender can seize and take possession of the property that was used as collateral.

Generally, the interest in a commercial mortgage tax deductible and the net proceeds of the loan is not as taxable income. However, you should always check with your tax advisor to be sure, since the tax consequences can be serious if it is determined that their use of resources suitable for commercial purposes.
